King's Cross station first opened in 1852, with the Great Northern hotel opening just a few years later.

Since then, the station has seen many refurbishments. In 2012, a new concourse - covered by a 1,700 tonne steel and glass dome - opened and more recently, a square was added in front of the main train shed.

King's Cross mixes simple, pared-back industrial Victorian architecture with modern and contemporary styles. Features include platforms, concourses, departure boards, retail, high-level walkways and balconies.

Previous projects include: The Boys in The Boat (George Clooney, 2024), Allelujah (Richard Eyre, 2022), Wonder Woman (Patty Jenkins, 2017), The Imitation Game (Morten Tyldum, 2014), Harry Potter franchise (various directors, 2001-2011), Career Girls (Mike Leigh, 1997), DDLJ (Aditya Chopra, 1995), Hoffman (Alvin Rakoff, 1977), Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter (Saul Swimmer, 1968), The Ladykillers (Alexander Mackendrick, 1955), Friday the Thirteenth (Victor Saville, 1933).
