Glasgow Central

Glasgow Central opened in 1879 and was extended further between 1901 and 1906. A regeneration in 2003 ensured most period details were retained.

The entrance has ornate ironwork, and seven pillars support a glazed roof above the arcade. Internally, modern elements fuse with more traditional station architecture.

Interesting features include an old station house, wooden retail units, subways, platforms and underground tunnels, arches and corridors. The offices and conference rooms provide a high level view of the concourse.
