Manchester Piccadilly
Manchester Piccadilly station, the busiest in the city, handles over 83,000 passengers and 1,000 train movements every day.
Built between 1860 and 1880, the train shed roof is separated into four spans, supported by brick walls between platforms 1 and 10, and iron columns throughout the rest of the station. Rebuilt and modified many times, the most recent work was completed in 2002. Today, Piccadilly has an impressive, bright, glass covered concourse, multiple exits, staircases and escalators, and a glass partition separating the platforms from the concourse.
Previous projects include: Top Boy (Ronan Bennett, 2018), Safe (Harlan Coben, 2017).
